We are happy to include one of the most popular old time spirituals
"Ride the Chariot" on our site.  When I was in our school choirs, or Glee       club at Ganta Mission School in Liberia, CWA and on Cuttington               University, "Ride  Chariot" was always one of our favorite concert
    songs.

Here is the Tema, Ghana, youth choir  with this great rendition.

There are very many songs on each of the two YouTubes attached.  [ One tube is located at the very top of the site and the other one at the very bottom of the site].

Two things you need to know.

1.  When you turn the tube on, you can let it play through from beginning to end if you like. After that, new sites will appear that you can click on your choice of additional songs either instrumental or vocal.

2.    If you want to listen to the music on the other side of the tube, you will find a red horizontal line or bar at the bottom of the tube.  On that red bar is a moveable red round ball.  Drag that red ball on the bar from left to right at the very end. Wait a while, topics of new musical songs series will appear.  Select whichever you want to hear by clicking on it. After you listen to all the music on that side, more songs will appear that you can choose from.  You can have hours and hours of listening pleasure.

"Old Black Joe" by Paul Robeson

Gone are the days
When my heart was young and gay.
Gone are my friends
From the cotton fields away.
Gone from this place,
To a better land I know.
I hear their gentle voices calling:
Old Black Joe

Chorus:
I'm coming, I'm coming
For my head is bending low
I hear their gentle voices calling
Old Black Joe.

Why do I weep
When my heart should feel no pain
Why do I sigh
That my friends come not again
Grieving for forms
Now departed long ago
I hear their gentle voices calling:
Old Black Joe.

Chorus:

Where are the hearts
Once so happy and so free
The children so dear
That I held upon my knee
Gone to the shore
Where my soul has longed to go
I hear their gentle voices calling:
Old Black Joe.

Chorus:
